From Metro Rapid Prototypings' past experiences, architectural firms seem to use different software which Metro RP is unable to manipulate accurately into a usable .STL file for the SLA machines.

Metro RP would like to annouce that we have new capability in this area of data manipulation and are able to successfully create a usable .STL file data we recieve from architectural firms.

Please visit our main website and view some past projects under "sample models."

Please contact Renee with any questions.

hi
does any body have any idea for the cost of laser for RP machine. my req is laser power=300 mW, Wave lenght = 355 nm, UV. what is the good source and place of buying the laser for SLA rp machine.

One more question, what is the life of laser for SLA RP machine, how the life can be increased.

Magics RP software optimizes all steps in your rapid prototyping and manufacturing process, from data import to platform preparation. By offering STL fixing, automated support generation, Boolean operations and many other powerful tools, it helps to build high quality parts in the shortest possible lead time.

Now Magics takes another step in further increasing its added value for the RP&M professional.
Magics 12 offers several new features and automation combined with continuously improved quality, e.g.:
- Batch Import of CAD files: Gain time and increase your efficiency by importing and converting batches of files (e.g. overnight) instead of handling them one by one.
- User-friendliness, Stability and Power: Experience the higher quality and better ergonomics of Magics 12: it is easier, better and faster than ever before.
- Color Shrinkwrap: Build designs, such as architectural parts, that were previously unsuited for RP. This powerful fixing tool bypasses intensive manual fixing and drastically decreases the time spent in data preparation of ‘bad STL’s’, while preserving colors and textures.

The metal prototyping and rapid prototyping (stereolithography) are completely different. I think Metro has a very good idea going here. I have came across in the past where I needed a prototype of an insert molded part but had troubles finding someone that was price feasible and local that could make the metal insert. Since Metro Rapid Prototyping has both capabilities, they can work hand in hand with each other to make a functional insert molded, or over molded, prototype with any metal, not limited to, insert. Threaded inserts can even be placed in the stereolithography prototype models but not sure how. It's amazing how technology is improving so fast...
