Stereolithography Prototypes

Metro Rapid Prototyping offers a variety of stereolithography materials. These new materials are less brittle than the original stereolithography material. Parts can be assembled for fit and function and also have the flexibility for functional snap fits.

Design issues can quickly be identified and corrected.

Post assembly fixtures, automation and packaging can be developed and tested before production parts are available.

If the rapid prototyping part is to mate with others in an assembly, a prototype can verify form, fit, and function to ensure the design is correct.

A physical 3D model can give Tooling Engineers a better idea of parting line and gate locations. On some parts and production tooling, rib and fillet features can be cumbersome. A rapid prototype will allow the engineer to see features to help with the mold design.
