SLA (Stereolithography Apparatus)
Metro Rapid Prototyping begins with a stereolithography (SL) model to create an accurate representation of the new or modified part unmatched by any other prototyping process in terms of accuracy, detail & surface quality. Once we receive a CAD file we can then place the part on one of our five stereolithography prototype machines. We are currently using 3D Systems SLA 250, two SLA 5000's, two SLA 7000's and the Viper. We also offer different stereolithography resins. Accura 60 is the established rigid epoxy stereolithography resin ideal for master patterns used in the RTV molding process as well as design verification
models. Two resins on the market (Accura 25 and Somos 9110) are installed on two of our larger platform machines. These resins have material properties similar to polypropylene and are good for stereolithography parts that are required to have properties that are similar to injection molded production materials. The fourth resin Somos 11120, which is used in our Viper machine, has material properties similiar to ABS. Read More>>
